1971 British Columbia Centennial Silver Dollar Coin
1971 (1871-) Canadian $1 British Columbia Centennial Specimen Silver Dollar is the first non-circulating silver dollar issued to the public in 1971 as a commemorative for the entry of British Columbia into Confederation in 1871. Its design is based on the provincial coat of arms. The obverse features a modification of the Machin portrait in which the portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II was reduced slightly and her hair extensively redone.
This silver coin comes packaged in a handsome leatherette clamshell case with white cardstock sleeve. Some sleeves show a bit of wear and could have hand-written notes left by previous owner. This uncirculated coin is held in place with a black plastic mount and foam insert. Note that the coin may be toned, due it's age and silver content. (stock pictures, toning may vary)
