Cow Skull

For the cowboy in all of us! A perfect compliment to any western theme, this Cow Skull is made of steel with hand-cut detail markings which allow us to hammer a bit of a contour into the form. The skull is welded to a hand-formed framework, two irregular rings made of 1'' wide steel. This piece hangs from a saw tooth hidden behind the horns. Stainless steel pins keep the entire piece raised away from the wall. This gives more visual depth to the piece while adding some protection from rust staining if hung outdoors. 

Once welding is complete, we let nature finish the job with a rust patina.  That means this design can hang outdoors year around with no maintenance needed.  Rust colouring will vary, but in an outdoor setting, it will gradually darken the finish to a deep uniform tobacco colour.

Did you want to use this indoors?  We recommend sealing it with a clear lacquer designed for metal such as Rustoleum or Tremclad, available at most hardware and building stores.  This won't add a bright shine, but will reduce scaling.
