1973 Canadian RCMP Centennial $1 Specimen Silver Dollar Coin
Issued in 1973 by the Royal Canadian Mint, this fascinating silver one dollar coin commemorates 100 years of the founding of the North West Mounted Police in 1873 which later became the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, making this coin a wonderful memento of Canada's rich history.
Obverse reads: "ELIZABETH II D.G. REGINA" and shows a right facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II
Reverse reads: "CANADA DOLLAR 1873-1973" and shows an image of a Mountie atop a horse.
This silver coin comes packaged in a handsome leatherette clamshell case with white cardstock sleeve. Some sleeves show a bit of wear and could have hand-written notes left by previous owner. This uncirculated coin is held in place with a black plastic mount and foam insert. Note that the coin may be toned, due it's age and silver content. (stock pictures, toning may vary)
